Autumn Update

Update #1 My allergies have been awful this year. My family is already predisposed to seasonal allergies, but this past month has been one of a kind. I sneeze all. the. time. I hate sneezing, but the worst is when I can't stop sneezing. One comes right after the other and I have to stop what I'm doing and go have a sneezing fit before I can be ok again. Just to make life extra fun, lets not forget that I am a germaphobe and a compulsive hand washer.

Update #2 This past month a new grocery store opened up off Randolph street called Mariano's. Mariano's is like this combination of a grocery store, a hotel and Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The store is super fancy, all the the clerks and cashiers are dressed in clean crisp white button down shirts and black ties. This store has everything from a salad bar, bakery, and butcher to a sushi bar, juicing machine and gelato store. Plus there are free samples everywhere you turn. The best part is the prices are really low. So now everyone from work goes to Mariano's for lunch/dinner everyday.

Update #3 I'm seeing a therapist.

Update #4 Wait a minute, therapist? Actually yes, and a very good one. My life has changed a lot in the past year, and most of the change occurred early this summer with my new job. I've found it extremely beneficial to be able to have a person from outside my life give me some perspective right now.

Update #5 I just finished reading a book about William Wilberforce, one of my three favorite saints, the other two being Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Mister Rogers. But I also am thinking today about "The Cloud of Witnesses" from my own life. My Grandmother Jane Jackson, and many other friends Rick Henderson, Nicole "Lilly" Lalime, David Dwyer, Leslee Schiller, and Lora Dale. I'm now reading a book of essays about the life and work of Mister Rogers. I find it amazing that his life has not only touched so many, but that his philosophy/theology connects in so many areas of my life: working with children, relationship based psychology, theology and art. Reading this is almost like a therapy in itself.

Update #6 My wisdom teeth are coming in. My top wisdom teeth came in about 10 years ago, but last month I was brushing my teeth and found two reddish pebbly looking things in the back of my mouth. Turns out they're teeth.

Update #7 I've started doing some costume work again. This has become the most rewarding thing in my life recently. I am the head of the costume committee at church, and we are responsible for costuming 75 people for The Little Town of Bethlehem. I'll also be doing costumes for a production of Medea.

There you go everybody. The most interesting things about my life that I can think of.
